Life Science Hub is run by Apotek Analytics Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact us at info@apotekanalytics.com.

What we collect

• From LinkedIn, when you sign in: your name and email address. We do not get your password, connections, messages or activity, and we never post on your behalf.
• What you tell us: your job title and employer, which other members can see, and whether you want the weekly briefing by email.
• How you use the hub: which sections you open and for how long (counted per day), the articles you mark as read, useful or not relevant, the sources you mute and your watch list. This keeps your news feed personal and helps us improve the hub.
• A record of actions: sign-ins and changes made on the hub are logged for security.

Why we use it

To run your account and give you the hub (performance of our agreement with you), to send the weekly briefing, or news about our services, events and offers, only if you ask for it (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Account settings), and to keep the hub secure and improve it (our legitimate interests). We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

The hub is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Sign-in is provided by LinkedIn, under LinkedIn’s own privacy policy. If your employer gave you an access code, your employer’s account administrator can see that you are a member of their plan.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to sign you in and keep you signed in (your session lasts 24 hours). Your browser also keeps a few display preferences on your device. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time: sign in, open Account settings (your initials at the top right), and choose Delete my account. You can instead deactivate it there, which signs you out and keeps everything until you next sign in. That removes your account and everything listed above except the security log of sign-ins and actions, which we keep as a record of who did what on the hub. You can also ask us by email to delete your account, or that log.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@apotekanalytics.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
